My Apologies

Dear Readers,

In today’s blog post, I titled the poem as the prayer of St. Francis. It was really a part of the lyrics from the hymn,”Let There be Peace on Earth, and Let It Begin with Me.” This was written in 1955 by Jill Jackson and Sid Miller.

The Prayer of St Francis author is unknown. The part of the prayer I wanted to use is below.

The Prayer of St. Francis

Lord, Make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred, let me bring love.

Where there is injury, pardon.

Where there is doubt , faith

Where there is darkness, light.

And where there is sadness, joy.

For it is in giving, that we receive.

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned.

And it is dying, we are born to eternal life.
